I never thought that I’d spend a summer studying and researching stuff, but it happened which is surprising because my summers were nothing close to productive. I’m not really good at communicating/interacting with people but after coming here I’m not gonna say I learnt how to but I met some amazing people. They taught me a lot of things which will be useful in my life especially I won’t forget Sujant sir and Abhijeet sir for lessons they taught me Srimadhi Ma’am and Vijay anna helped me a lot.  Mentors were fantastic, probably the best ones I’ve ever seen till now. After coming here experiencing all this I think I’ve come to know what to do in my last two years of my bachelor's degree, but I still haven’t got a clue of how I’m gonna achieve all that, However I think I’ll figure it out because working here has given me that confidence that I’m capable. Thank you Vijay anna, Raghavi and Tejaswini for bearing with me, I pestered them a lot and I hope they didn’t get sick of me. That’...

During the 10-week internship at Survey of India, I along with my other batchmates had worked on various advanced technologies pertaining to surveying. Having working on the project at various phases, the experience that I had amassed was nothing short of doing a course on the subject. Various experienced Officer Surveyors, who with their vast technical expertise has not only guided as but also help us understand the state of work at the office. From non-teaching staff to the head of Survey of India, their own experiences and the way they handle the problems once again reminded to not falter at the unknowns but to take one step at a time. Working in the office was never a bed of roses; with each day passing new challenges arises and problems occur. The spontaneity and flexibility at which they work to solve a problem was very inspiring. This internship helped to assess my approach to a general problem and reinforced my confidence with the results I have produced. In the upcoming ...

My internship at  IIT Navavishkari-Hub  Foundation in IIT Tirupati  was an unforgettable experience, not just because of the technical skills I gained, but also because of the incredible people I met along the way. I had the privilege of working alongside brilliant minds from different universities across India. Each of us brought a unique perspective to the table, and it was inspiring to see how our diverse backgrounds and experiences converged to solve complex problems. The friendships I formed during this time were one of the highlights of my internship. Whether we were brainstorming ideas, sharing stories about our respective universities, or exploring the beautiful IIT Tirupati campus together, these connections added to the whole experience.  The collaboration and mutual support among us interns were truly remarkable, and I learned as much from my peers as I did from the project itself. The hands-on nature of the bus tracking system project was particularly exc...

INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE – NIGST I was lucky enough to come by the tremendous opportunity to carry out my internship at the reputed National Institute for Geo-informatics Sciences and Technology , Survey of India located in Hyderabad for a duration of 3 weeks in the months of June-July 2024. During my time there, I came to gain exposure and knowledge in the field of geoinformatics through experts working in the field. My project was based on the application of various Machine Learning algorithms to classify Land Use/Land Cover classes in remotely sensed data. The project helped me gain a lot of insight into AI/ML, a concept which is currently leading the technological development of various fields.  I also came to have a better understanding of the various software tools used for processing data, as well as the statistical methods used to analyse such data. Moreover, I was able to learn directly from industry professionals, whose valuable experience and knowledge went beyond our...

My Internship Experience at the Survey of India Nilesh Kumar Verma CE21B023 The day I got to know about my internship opportunity at the Survey of India, I was filled with joy and excitement. I knew it would not be that easy but I was very eager to start and learn new things there. Over the whole two and half months, I’ve had the opportunity to dive deep into the world of surveying and mapping, gaining hands-on experience that has truly broadened my understanding of this field. A Fresh Start Starting this internship, I was both excited and nervous. The Survey of India, with its rich history and crucial role in national mapping and surveying, seemed like the perfect place to apply my theoretical knowledge in real-world problems. From day one, the team welcomed me warmly and introduced me to the various aspects of their work. They helped and guided me at every stage that eases the complexity of the work. The mentors and coordinators there were very professional and quite friendly a...

My internship in Hyderabad has been an unforgettable journey filled with cherished moments. Every day starts with the soothing smell of sambar in the mess. Mornings are often a rush to get to work, sometimes after a late start, with the anticipation of the refreshing tea breaks that break up the day. However, it's the evenings that truly standout. Playing badminton has become a favorite activity, and playing against the Additional Surveyor General has been an unexpected highlight. It's a remarkable experience to be on the court with someone so senior, where professional ranks disappear, leaving only the joy of the game. The discussions during and after the matches have been insightful, providing a unique look into the minds of those who have walked the path before me. Exploring Hyderabad has been an adventure. We often cram five of us into an auto, sharing laughs and stories as we traverse the city's lively streets, making each trip a new adventure. Evening walks around the...

INTRERNSHIP EXPERIENCE AT NIGST My recent internship at the National Institute of Geoinformatics Science and Technology (NIGST) under the Survey of India in Hyderabad was a truly transformative experience, providing both professional development and invaluable exposure. NIGST's dynamic environment seamlessly blends traditional surveying techniques with the modern techniques. A standout aspect of my internship was the opportunity to work with the advanced Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) system, a developing technology in India. Gaining hands-on experience with CORS—operating the system and collecting data—was particularly exciting and insightful. Beyond the technical skills, this internship contributed greatly to my personal growth. It enhanced my project management abilities, taught me the importance of accuracy in data handling and many more. Beyond these skills the internship was a continuous learning process. Networking was another key benefit of my time at ...
